New hygiene regulations are gradually being implemented, but some habits remain difficult to change. In several neighborhoods, waste continues to be dumped in inappropriate places, particularly in gutters.
“Throwing trash anywhere remains a deeply ingrained habit for some people,” observed a local resident.
These practices highlight the difficulty of changing daily behaviors. For many residents, change requires time and an adjustment of habitual actions. “For us, it has become a habit: morning and evening, some people continue to throw their waste into the gutters,” the resident testified.
The success of this initiative also relies on everyone’s participation. Respecting designated disposal areas and stopping the dumping of waste in gutters require daily involvement from the population.
Changing behaviors therefore appears to be a gradual process. On the streets, new habits are beginning to emerge, but old practices are still visible.
