Administrative sanctions. Three magistrates from the Anti-Corruption Pole (PAC) have been suspended from their duties, according to a statement from the Ministry of Justice released on Thursday evening. The ministry emphasized that these decisions follow “observed shortcomings in the exercise of their duties, particularly in the handling of cases, as well as failure to comply with the obligations and responsibilities inherent to their positions.”
A source within the ministry indicated that there are numerous reasons behind this decision, including conflicts of interest. The magistrates are also accused of “systematically closing cases without justification.” According to our source, the list of grievances is extensive, including “unjustified absences,” “job abandonment,” “repeated refusal and discriminatory selection of cases to be processed,” and “behavior contrary to professional ethics.”
The decision was made by the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee of the Anti-Corruption Poles (CSE), the ministry noted, following inspections and evaluations conducted by the Bureau for the Control of Jurisdictions (BCCJ), and after consultation with the heads of the Supreme Court.
The duration of the suspension has not yet been determined. As they are magistrates, the case must be brought before the Disciplinary Council to determine the severity of their misconduct and the corresponding sanctions.
