Only a few days remain before students return to school. With the new school year scheduled for September 7, 2026, public institutions are already preparing to welcome them. Since August 24, administrative staff have resumed their duties to implement the necessary arrangements for the new academic year. Teachers will return to their posts on August 31 to prepare for the start of the term and the arrival of students.
According to the school calendar established by the Ministry of National Education, the 2026-2027 academic year will be organized into five periods. The first will run from September 7 to October 30, 2026, followed by the All Saints’ break from October 31 to November 8. The second period will begin on November 9, 2026, and end on December 23, before the Christmas holidays, which will run from December 24 to January 3, 2027. The third period will take place from January 4 to February 26, 2027. It will be followed by the fourth period, scheduled from March 1 to April 30, 2027. Finally, the fifth and final period will begin on May 10 and end on June 30, 2027, marking the end of the school year.
The calendar also includes an Easter holiday period from March 25 to April 4, 2027. The School Day will be celebrated in February. Regarding official exams, the Primary School Certificate (CEPE) tests are set for June 15, 2027, one day earlier than the 2026 edition, which was held on June 16. The Junior High School Certificate (BEPC) exams will take place on July 5, 6, 7, and 8, 2027, while the Pedagogical Aptitude Certificate for Primary Education (CAP/EP) exams are scheduled for October 5 and 6, 2027.
