Several Chinese nationals were arrested and various pieces of machinery used in mining activities were seized during a raid in the Mananjary district last week, following reports of illegal mining operations. Alerted by these reports, the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Fanirisoa Ernaivo, took action.
