The President of the Malagasy Tennis Federation (FMT), Hary Andriantefihasina, is celebrating the success of the Madagascar Championships. He now aims to capitalize on this momentum to further develop Malagasy tennis and shares his insights in an interview.
Reflecting on the recent championships, the President highlighted four key achievements: the return of the public, the renewed trust from private partners and sponsors, the first-ever broadcast of the finals on Canal+, and the active participation of players.
Regarding the sustainability of these partnerships, Andriantefihasina emphasized that the Federation intends to leverage this trust to strengthen development projects. He noted that corporate support is essential for scaling events and signals that tennis is once again an attractive platform for businesses.
On the topic of media visibility, the broadcast on Canal+ is seen as a milestone that allows champions to reach a wider audience and validates the Federation’s ongoing efforts. With nearly 300 participants, including 122 from regional leagues, the Federation acknowledges the need to further structure and support the sport outside of Antananarivo.
Looking ahead, the Federation’s priorities include professionalizing the discipline, enhancing youth training, expanding regional presence, and providing better support for top-tier players. The President concluded by expressing his gratitude to all sponsors for their vital commitment.
