SPORTS BOULES – Young pétanque world champions from Santa Susana decorated with the National Order

Recognition for the young Malagasy pétanque players crowned world champions in Santa Susana, Spain. Received by Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, President of the Refondation, at Iavoloha on Thursday, the four athletes who represented Madagascar at the Junior World Championships were decorated with National Order medals.

The world champions in the mixed doubles category were elevated to the rank of Officer of the National Order, while the bronze medalists were elevated to the rank of Knight of the National Order. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Grand Chancellor of the National Order.

“May this victory not be an end in itself, but a step towards something greater,” declared the Head of State in his speech. He also sent a message of encouragement to Clarito Harison Andriambelonony, twins Nomena and Nameno Ramamonjisoa, and Eliot Raberanto, praising their performance that allowed Madagascar’s colors to fly high in Spain. “Madagascar hopes for even greater achievements,” added the Iavoloha resident.

In addition to the honorary distinctions, the Malagasy State awarded a bonus of 5 million ariary to each of the young athletes. The coach of the Malagasy national team also received a bonus.
