The joint celebration of the ‘International Sea Turtle Day’ and the ‘International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem’ in Analalava, in the Sofia region, highlights the strategic importance of Madagascar’s coastal ecosystems. Madagascar is at the heart of international conservation efforts. Indeed, five of the sea turtle species identified worldwide are found in the country.
