The 19th Boeny Rally, serving as the third round of the Madagascar Rally Championship, is taking place from Thursday to Saturday in Mahajanga.
Three days of excitement and thrills have begun. Vacationers and residents of Mahajanga are in for a treat. The 19th Boeny Rally kicks off this afternoon in the Sakalava capital. Thirty-five crews will start this holiday rally. The program includes fourteen special stages, covering six different routes over a distance of 123 km. The total distance to be covered, including 78 km of liaison sections, amounts to 202 km.
Four special stages are scheduled for this Thursday for the first leg. The event begins with an 800-meter city circuit special stage in front of the City Hall, passing by the Saint-Gabriel College. The day will conclude with a night stage, ES4 Mantsabory-Ampitolova Puit, covering 7.30 km, with the first car scheduled to start at 5:52 PM.
The second leg, scheduled for Friday, will include five special stages. The Must A-Must B stage, the longest of the rally at 14.8 km, and the ES Ampitolova Puit-Mantsabory stage (7.2 km) will each be contested twice.
Five special stages are on the program for the third and final leg on Saturday. Crews will revisit two stages used during the first leg: ES11 Ampitolova-Antsanitia and ES12 Antsanitia-Mantsabory. ES13 Mantsabory-Vitogaz will serve as the rally’s “power stage.” The final stage, ES14, which is optional for competitors but serves as a showcase for partners and the public, will conclude this holiday rally in the city center.
