PORTRAIT – Nomena Ramamonjisoa – “I want to follow in the footsteps of my predecessors”

A remarkable rise. Young boules player from the MKT Vakinankaratra club, Nomena Ramamonjisoa, has shown impressive performances in just two years of playing pétanque. Currently entering the tenth grade at Lycée Lara in Antsirabe for the upcoming school year, she began practicing the discipline at the age of 14. She just celebrated her sixteenth birthday this Monday, August 10.

Nomena and her twin sister Nameno were the top performers following the training camp and various evaluation tests organized over three days, from June 10 to 12 in Antsirabe, to represent Madagascar at the U18 Mixed World Youth Championships, which took place in Santa Susanna, Spain, from July 30 to August 2.

“We were there to continue the previous exploits. I aim to follow in the footsteps of my predecessors,” Nomena Ramamonjisoa confided upon her return to the country after her global adventure.

Like her teammate, the untouchable shooter from the C2BA club, Clarito Andriambelonony, Nomena also won a gold medal in the doubles event, as well as two bronze medals in the triples and precision shooting events. She was a key player for the team, being fielded in almost all three events, and was one of the architects of the Great Island’s success.
