The fifth stage of the 2026 Pétanque Masters, held on August 4th and 5th in Santa Susanna, Spain, marked a turning point. The Étoiles du Sud (Southern Stars) team, led by Malagasy expatriates Yves Rakotoarisoa and Zigle Rakotondrainibe, had started their journey strongly. In the group stages, they dominated Team Doerr (13-4) and then Team Bonetto (13-12).
