Analamanga dominated the scene. The finals of the Madagascar U17 Volleyball Cup were a showdown between two of the country’s leading clubs: the Gendarmerie Nationale Volleyball (GNVB) and Akany Sambatra Itaosy (ASI). The gendarmes secured victory in the boys’ final, winning 3-1 (25/16, 25/15, 19/25, 25/15) against the Itaosy team on Saturday at the Ambatomena gymnasium in Fianarantsoa.
In the girls’ category, ASI defeated GNVB in a thrilling five-set match, 3-2 (28/26, 19/25, 22/25, 25/18, 15/9). CVBF Farafangana took third place in the boys’ division by beating Stella 3-1 in the classification match, while MVBC Boeny defeated CRJS Atsinanana 3-1 in the girls’ division.
Regional teams dominated the U13 category. CVBF Farafangana claimed the title by defeating ASTRA VB 2-0 (21/19, 21/8) in the final. For the girls, CRJS Toamasina outperformed GNVB Analamanga 2-0 (21/17, 21/12). In the third-place matches, CVBF 2 defeated ASI 1 (2-0) for the boys, and CRJS 2 beat ASI (2-0) for the girls. This national youth cup brought together thirty-one teams, including eighteen in the U17 category and thirteen in the U13 category.
